My well running dry

I recently got the chance to travel to Swaziland with a my christian friends from campus ministry and this would be my first time out of the country. Midway through the planning and the support raising, I pulled out of the mission- a move that was not well received or perceived by my friends and my friends started asking me why.

Well I discovered for a start that my well had run dry and while ministry is infact expected of me as a christian, it needed to come from an overflow of my relationship with God; my time spent with God from my growing relationship with Him. At that particular time, I had found myself to be so dry, lacking of me-God time. I had been so preoccupied with activities that would seem to put me at a better place with God : Monday bible study fellowship, Tuesday School of leadership, Wednesday -AIESEC, Thursday - Campus Life meetings; Friday - some Kesha or sleepover or just something came up. Considering that I had classes the whole day, I found no time to be in the secret, in the quiet with the Lord and just have my QT (Quiet Times) and pray and study the word of God.

You see, for most Christians, QT is not an essential part of their lifestyle, It is what 'over spiritual christian' usually does but for them its not necessary. In our walk with God, we are expected to be continuously grow in knowing the Lord and how can you know the Lord if you don't spend time with Him? To truly claim to know the Lord is to truly  cultivate your relationship with Him.

So as for my mission, I'd prefer that I first spend time with the Lord. as from Mark 3:14 , Jesus calls us first to spend time with Him before we go do His service. You see, If you have not spent time with God, you have no business doing His service. Watch out so that you will not be caught in the trap of saying 'I am doing enough as a christian in my relationship with God'. If you expect the person you are dating to create time for you, How much more does God expect you to spent time with God? The one who created you and died for you so that He could be with you. Think about it.

The Truth - part 1

In a world full of very many sources of information, it becomes a bit hard to keep track of what is true and what isn't. Are the world leaders part of the freemason movement? Are there weapons of mass destruction in Iran? Are all the civil wars in Africa funded by western countries? Is the global warming due to the cyclic nature of the earth's climate or due to man's destructive activities? Were we created or did we get formed from the big bang theory? 

The truth is never clear but this what I've found out in my day-today living:

1. The truth is absolute

For truth to e truth, it can only have one version. There are no different stories that oppose each other about a subject issue and they are both right. 

1. Humanism philosophies oppose the truth

By their very nature, humanists believe that every person is entitled to their opinion, which is true, but they add that their opinions are right based on their circumstances..that's the lie there. If every human being is entitled an opinion about every issue and their 6 billion people and the same count of issues, how can each of these opinions be true. e.g is abortion right? you will get 6 billion opinions, can they all be right. Obviously not!

1. Beliefs apart from Christianity are false.

• Atheism - they purport to believe that there is no God. In this group you have the gays, the devil worshipers, murderers, rapists..and the list goes on. It is convenient for them to believe that there is no God because the idea of God existing implies He has standards, and if He has standards, He has expectations from us and if we woefully fall short, which we do, we either go back in repentance or choose to deny His existence to continue in our sinful nature. 

That is why the Anglican church in USA had to overlook those parts of the bible against gays because by admitting God has those standards, and that they have gone against them, it means they live in sin.

• The church of Satan (Oh yes..there is a registered church of Satan in the US), believes that God and Satan are ideologies and not spirit entities. They display God as being a kill-joy cop ideology and Satan as the spirit behind fun and happiness. In the spirit of satanism:

1. All commandments in the bible are the opposite of what you should be doing
2. The bile is a mythological stories
3. There is no after life(live freely).- you do realize that this implies that you are a speck in the universe that is inconsequential and your existence is by chance - that is sad on so many levels.
4. Two consenting people are aloud to have sex - it supports gayness, statutory rape, incest, infidelity, promiscuity as a way of life and if the two people engaging in this activity consent - Sodom and Gomorrah ring a bell?
5. Engaging is substance abuse, sexual orgies, disturbing cults and occults is part of the program. In one way or another, this attributes exhibit themselves in all faucets of our lives - sexual orgies are easily found in kerrang concerts, campuses, movies like Spartacus, while substance abuse is everywhere this days and accepted. Our Hollywood stars are in cults and occults that are gaining popularity at exponential rates.

The truth has been skewed by our morality and society, and we have customized our belief systems to fit our versions of truth.

The biggest lies that the Satan has been selling and are going like hot cakes are:

1. That there is no God - In this lie, we are an end to ourselves, we define our morals and we judge ourselves according to our belief systems.
2. Satan does not exist - By this very definition, we cannot define wrong or evil because the perpetrator or lies, deceit and all evil in this world does not exist. So who is to say what is wrong, and how do we credit something to be wrong?
3. Relativism is the only way people can co-exist. Accept all gods,all cultures, all beliefs all skewed morals, and mix them up with your own.

So what is the reality? What is the truth?

Son healed of cysts

I wanted to share with you a miracle that took place in my life. When I was 5 months pregnant, my son was diagnosed with two cyst, one on each side of the brain. They tested him for Down Syndrome and I thank God that all of his test came back normal. After he was born when he was about 5 months old I took him for a checkup and his doctor wanted to do an ultrasound to see if the cyst were gone. The cyst was still there and she seemed real concerned about this. She said he had several cysts called Colloid plexus cyst. She called a neurosurgeon to look at the ultrasound and he recommened having an MRI done. The MRI was scheduled on June 18, 1999. I prayed over my son using a prayer cloth and I fasted the week before the MRI was to be done. On the day of the MRI, my son had to be put to sleep but right before we went in, he had already fallen asleep in my arms. I asked the nurse had they already given him something to make him go to sleep since that had already put an IV in his hand.
She said no they had not given him anything, but it was good that he had already fallen asleep because they wouldn't have to give him as much of the sedative as they would have.
After the MRI had been scanning for about 20 minutes, one of the doctors that had given him the sedative came in the room because my son Devin had started waking up before the MRI was done. He told me that he did not see anything on the scan. He and the radiologist were in a room viewing the pictures from the MRI. When he told me he couldn't find any cyst, I felt an overwhelming burst of joy in my heart. God had answered my prayer. I met with a specialist to go over the MRI and he told me that he could not find the cyst that they had seen earlier on the Ultrasound. He said my baby was perfectly normal. I told him that was what I had been praying for and he said, "Well, your prayers were answered."
I thank God for healing my son Devin who will be 2 years old on January 12. I praise God for being faithful and keeping his promise according to Mathew 18:19, "If two of you agree down here on earth concerning anything you ask for, my Father in heaven will do it for you. " Mathew 18:20 "For where two or three gather together because they are mine, I will be right there among them."
I want to encourage anyone who needs healing to trust in God. He has been faithful to me all my life. Whenever I have needed healing for my family he has kept his promise.
